We are warning all citizens living in the ex-Yugoslav, Balkan and European countries about the dangers of the NSAID medicine nimesulide sold under various of different brands for acute pain, most commonly taken for menstrual pain and similar.
Dear citizens,
If you care about your health and most importantly the health of your sisters, mothers and all women, please inform yourselves about the dangers of nimesulide, inform yourselves and share the word around as this dangerous medicine is sold off the shelves in Macedonia, and most likely in Albania, Serbia, Kosovo and other ex-Yugoslav countries. The serious and deadly hepatotoxicity of this medicine outweighs all its medicinal benefits and puts a deadly health risk to children, women and all peoples taking it.
While in ๐ฒ๐ฐ Macedonia this poison is sold off the shelves, nimesulide has never been approved for use in ๐บ๐ธ U.S.A, ๐ฌ๐ง U.K, ๐จ๐ฆ Canada, ๐ฏ๐ต Japan and few others.
Today it is not used in ๐ซ๐ฎ Finland, ๐ช๐ธ Spain, ๐ต๐น Portugal, ๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel and several other countries.
Despite the ๐ช๐บ EU’s EMA passively restricting this compound, but stating its benefits outweigh its risks, the ๐ช๐บ EDQM run by Europe’s Council classifies it as acute toxic chemical compound with the classification GHS06 – its official logo is the warning sign with the skull of death we’re referencing (see information below).
After the Marshall’s personal experience with this medicine where he got it from a pharmacy without any prescription for tooth-ache, after taking it he felt ill, got serious fever, and felt seriously nauseous for 4 days.
After further research online, we discovered that nimesulide is a very serious and toxic medicine, especially when sold off the shelves without doctor’s knowledge. Taking nimesulide can result to liver failure, permanent health risks and in worst cases death to many of our citizens. There have been situations where liver failure and death occurred only after taking the medicine for 2 days.
If you want to hear the Marshall himself calling a pharmacy in Skopje asking if he could buy Nymer (brand-name for nimesulide) without a prescription, click here to listen to the conversation in Macedonian language.
From our knowledge, this serious hepatotoxic medicine can be found under the brand-names of Nymer (ะะธะผะตั) in Macedonia, however even more dangerous are the granules with fruit flavoured powder such as Cox-In and many others which are given for tooth-ache and other non-serious pain scenarios.
As a safe NSAID alternative which is available worldwide and doesn’t come with such toxicity and controversy, we would recommend Ketoprofen (Ketonal). For further information and viable alternatives about safe NSAID, consult with your doctor. If he tells you nimesulide is safe, change your doctor.
We do not expect our ๐ฒ๐ฐ Ministry of Health to change any of their policies, that’s why you have to get informed yourself and share this knowledge further around with your friends, especially all women and those who have children – nimesulide might be deadly in certain scenarios, and in all scenarios it is very hepatotoxic, meaning serious liver damage.
Actually we cannot even blame the ministry, even if they “perhaps” directed the pharmacies to sell it without a prescription. That would be just empty speculation, we really cannot blame anyone except the staff working at the pharmacies which give out chemicals without the proper knowledge, or with the orders of someone above. The consequences in this particular case can be devastating for peoples, and in worst case scenario they die, nimesulide is very unlikely to be anywhere on the toxicology report, nor the cause of death. That is why, we the people have to organise ourselves and share this information with our sisters, mothers, all friends who have children, and of course ourselves.
